Finally A New Post

Holding hands during tummy time! Lucy is always holding onto Lincoln. It is so cute
Here they are at 3 1/2 months old. I can't believe how fast the time flies! They are so fun. Lincoln talks all the time. To is frog in his car seat or his own reflection in the mirror. It is so fun. Lucy is a little hard cookie to crack but she too smiles and talks, but it takes more to get it out of here then Lincoln.
Our life has been so crazy lately. With me going back to work and John starting school again. Thankfully we have been able to work out our schedules so that either he or I are home with the babies. It makes for a lot of running back and forth but we are grateful that we get to be at home with them. It isn't easy being parents of twins, but we love them and wouldn't change it for the world!

BAD BLOGGER

Sorry I have been so bad a keeping my blog up to date. As you can imagine my life is a little busy, and just got worse. I went back to work full time last week. So when I am home I am typically home by myself with two babies and most nights I don't even have time to eat dinner let alone blog. So become my friend on facebook to be more up to date with our lives! and I will try to get some new pics posted of the twins soon.

Labor and Delivery

Friday morning I went in to see my Dr and get the results for the testing she had me to do for the preeclamsia. The protein levels in your urine have to be 300 in order to be considered preeclampsia, mine were 297. So instead of waiting until June 1st to induce me she just wanted to go ahead and do it Friday so those levels wouldn't rise. I got checked in and around noon they started me on pitocin. John got there shortly after and gave me a sweet blessing. I was already dilated to a 3 when I checked in and at 7:30 pm I was only at a 4. My Dr came in to talk with us again at 9:30 pm and she discussed the likely possibility of a c-section if at 10:30 pm when she would come back to check I was still at a 4. My Dad offered a beautiful prayer asking Heavenly Father to bless us. My parents then went into the waiting room to visit with John's parents so John and I could try to rest. At 10:30 pm my Dr came back in and said get the room ready Lucy's head is right here and we are ready to push! ( I had to deliver in an operating room, which is a standard procedure for twins, since complications can arise and an emergency c-section is sometime necessary) They wheeled me into the OR and the Dr got scrubbed down, and a whole slew of nurses and other medical stuff came in and got everything set up. I think there were about 20 people in there! But they have to have a double set up. Two sets of nurses for each baby and then my nurse my Dr her assistant, then she also brought in her midwife to help. Then John and my mom. At 11:12 pm Lucy was born and exactly 10 minutes later at 11:22 pm Lincoln was born.
I feel so blessed, and know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayer. In a situation where things could have easily been difficult and complications could have arose, everything went perfectly. I was able to deliver them vaginally, they were both as healthy as can be and we all got to go home together on Sunday morning. We have been blessed with so much!

Welcome Home!

Lucy Lorraine: Born 5/28/10 at 11:12 pm, weighed 6lbs 7oz, 18in

Lincoln John: Born 5/28/10 at 11:22 pm weighed 5lbs 14oz, 17 1/2 in

Maybe Sooner

So I had an appointment with my OB yesterday and as usual she checks out my swelling, because it is so bad! So bad my gums are swelling and I have to wear my retainers cuz it is pushing my teeth apart! yuck! Well swelling is one of the symptoms of preeclampsia so she always checks me for the other symptoms but I haven't had any others until yesterday. So she had me do some labs, and some other fun tests I won't share, and if they come back positive she will induce me Friday morning! Holy Smokes! so we could have our babies tomorrow!

I can see the finish line!

I had 2 appointments this week, one with the specialist that I have been seeing and the other with my OB. The specialist has been watching and monitoring the babies my whole pregnancy. Monday I saw her for the LAST TIME! Babies are measing in at 5lbs 10oz (baby girl) and 5lbs 130z (baby boy). WOWzers. Both are heathy. Wednesday I saw my OB and she said that we can induce labor on JUNE 1st!!!! That puts me between 37 and 38 weeks Full Term! I feel so blessed that not only have I made it full term with twins I am still working! Now keep us in your prayers as a twin vaginal birth can be difficult for me and the babies.

Baby Girl at 32 weeks. She had her face pushed up against the placenta so it was hard to get a good shot! I think she is just camera shy cuz in every ultrasound we have a hard time getting good ones of her.
However Baby Boy is always up for photos! He is even showing us some tricks here, that is his leg and his toes are touching is forehead!

Christmas Vacation.

Once again John was awesome enough to let me go visit family while he stayed home to work! This time I flew to Salt Lake to visit my wonderful family. Every year we have a Christmas party with my mom's side of the family and I haven't been able to go for the last couple of years, so I was dying to go, and yes this trip too was worth every moment. I don't think there is anything better the Temple square at Christmas time! And then to be able to spend it with some of the greatest cousins a girl could have, well that just makes it all the better.

Can I just say I have the best family! While there me aunts threw me a baby shower! SO sweet of them!

IT IS FOUND!

I spend a Saturday deep cleaning my house, and what do you know, I find my camera cable! WAhoo! Now bare with me as we go back to Halloween.

I hadn't been home to visit my family in months and I told John "I got to go wither you can go or not," and being the loving husband that he is he let me go with no protest. And the long boring drive alone was worth every moment. How could it not be when you get to spend it with these two adorable girls! Tinker Bell and a Beautiful Bride

I even dressed up to go trick or treating with them. ( I was a scarecrow if you couldn't tell)

Lost!

I have pictures I need to post but unfortunatly I can not find the cable for my camera to the computer. I am going to give up looking and go buy a new one soon, untill then sorry about the boring blog!

I have had interest in how exactly I cut myself so bad with a butter knife, so I guess I better give a little more detail. I had washed a tupperwear and when I took it out of the dishwasher the rim of it had warped, try as I might I couldn't get the lid on. Sooooo me and my brillant ideas I figured a butter knife would be a great leverage tool. I was holding the lid with my left hand trying to push it on, while with my right hand (butter knife) I was pushing as hard as I could on the rim to get it to push into the lid! Now I think your imagination can explain the rest of the incident! ;) Butter knife slipped (no surprise since I was pushing on it will all my might) and went straight into my finger! I was home alone and had to drive myself to the urgent care, with a paper towel wrapped around it trying to squeese it to stop the blood, not so easy trying to hold that and drive. Needless to say there was alot of blood on alot of places! ;)

What you can do with a butter knife
